Operation Sindoor, executed during the night of May 6-7, targeted nine significant terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as a calculated and measured response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attack that took the lives of 26 innocent individuals just two weeks earlier.

The covert operation, carried out at approximately 1:44 a.m., caught the Pakistani military completely unprepared. In a meticulously planned assault, the Indian Air Force successfully neutralized terror camps associated with internationally banned organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, all while maintaining a strict adherence to Indian airspace — a powerful indicator of India’s dedication to precision, discipline, and accountability.

Among the most vocal supporters of this mission were some of India’s distinguished sports personalities, led by boxer Gaurav Bidhuri, who offered a passionate rebuke to detractors and a heartfelt tribute to the Indian army.

“While we were asleep in our homes, our Indian Army was executing Operation Sindoor. And for those who have been demanding, ‘Modi ji, attack! Why aren’t you attacking?’ — this is your definitive response,” Bidhuri expressed to IANS.

“It’s simple to give unsolicited advice from the comfort of one’s home — calling for military action without grasping the full scope of the situation. But the reality is, such operations necessitate extensive planning, strategic accuracy, and careful consideration of the ramifications. Our Army took its time, meticulously organized, and executed with precision.

"They struck 8 to 9 terror camps in a single, synchronized operation. And to those in the opposition who once demanded proof, I believe they won't require any now. The evidence speaks volumes," he asserted.

Bidhuri continued, "Today, the entire nation stands united behind the Indian Army and our leadership. This is not merely retaliation — it’s a quest for justice. It sends a clear message to those who dare to attack us: your actions will have consequences. Jai Hind!"

Wrestling champion and Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia, whose brother lost his life in the Pahalgam attack, also shared his sentiments in a touching tribute to the bravery of the armed forces.

“I am profoundly proud of our Indian Army. They have honored my brother's memory with justice, valor, and precision,” Punia told IANS.

“Their actions have provided some solace to families like mine while uplifting the spirit of the entire nation. It is our responsibility to support our armed forces without division or political bias. On matters of national security, we must present a united front. Let this operation serve as a warning: any aggression towards India will be met with unwavering strength and resolve,” Punia emphasized.

Boxer Vijender Singh expressed his pride succinctly: “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

Badminton champion Saina Nehwal and former cricketer Suresh Raina also joined in, sharing “Jai Hind” with their vast follower base on social media.

As per the Defence Ministry, Operation Sindoor was executed following comprehensive intelligence assessments, aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure without escalating to direct military conflict. Importantly, no Pakistani military assets or civilians were harmed during these strikes — a decision made to showcase restraint while affirming strength.
