Guwahati, Nov 24 (NationPress) Prominent top-order batsman B Sai Sudharsan has expressed that India is resolutely aiming to clinch victory in the ongoing second Test against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. He emphasized their readiness to pursue any necessary strategy to secure a series-tying win.

At stumps on day two, India stood at 9/0, trailing South Africa by 480 runs. “I feel energized and mentally prepared for day three. My goal is to bat for an extended period and achieve a substantial total. As a team, our focus is on winning and leveling the series. We are prepared to do whatever it takes to secure the win,” Sudharsan stated in a conversation with broadcasters following day three's proceedings.

It is crucial for India to emerge victorious to avoid their second home Test series loss in just two years. “We need to perform exceptionally well in our batting for that to happen. We'll approach the game one day at a time, or even session by session, striving to dominate each session to enhance our chances as we look towards day five,” he added.

“Our focus is on executing well today and tomorrow, setting us up for a strong position to contemplate winning the Test. The pitch has been favorable, which is a consensus among us. We are committed to giving our best to achieve the victory,” Sudharsan remarked, who stepped into the playing eleven after Shubman Gill was sidelined due to a neck injury.

When asked about the adjustments needed to bat effectively on a red-soil pitch in Guwahati, Sudharsan replied, “The key is to recognize where the runs can be scored, as there are different techniques required for batting on red soil compared to black soil pitches.”

“I believe you can adopt a taller stance and engage more with the ball due to the extra bounce on this surface. My focus is on understanding where the scoring opportunities lie and how to extend my innings,” he concluded.
