Guwahati, Nov 24 (NationPress) Prominent top-order batsman B Sai Sudharsan has made it clear that the Indian cricket team is fully committed to clinching victory in the ongoing second Test against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. He emphasized their readiness to adopt any strategy required to achieve a series-levelling win.

At the close of day two, India stood at 9/0, needing to cover a deficit of 480 runs. "I feel energized and mentally prepared for day three. My goal is to bat for a prolonged period and post a strong total. As a unit, we aim to win this match and equal the series. We are willing to do whatever it takes to secure the victory," Sudharsan stated in a discussion with broadcasters after the day’s play.

Securing this win is crucial for India to prevent their second home series defeat in Tests over the past two years. "Ideally, we need to perform exceptionally well with the bat first. We will approach it day by day or even session by session, focusing on dominating each session for a better chance on day five, especially in the latter half of the day," he added.

"We must concentrate on performing well today and tomorrow to position ourselves favorably for a potential Test win. The pitch has been conducive for batting, as we all perceive. We will strive to give our utmost to accomplish our goal," Sudharsan remarked, who stepped into the playing eleven after Shubman Gill was sidelined due to a neck injury.

On the necessary adjustments for batting effectively on a red-soil pitch in Guwahati, Sudharsan commented, "It's about recognizing where to score runs, as batting on red soil differs from black soil pitches. One can stand a bit taller and engage with the ball due to the extra bounce. I aim to enhance my understanding of run-scoring opportunities and extend my innings accordingly."
