New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) has officially unveiled India's men's mixed disability team for the upcoming groundbreaking five-match Mixed Disability T20 International (T20I) series against England, scheduled from January 29 to February 6 in Greater Noida and Jaipur.
Ravindra Sante will take the helm as captain, with Vivek Kumar serving as the vice-captain of the squad.
This series is particularly noteworthy as it will include players with a variety of disabilities, such as physical challenges, hearing impairments, and intellectual disabilities, all competing together in a unified international format. It represents a considerable advancement in the promotion of inclusive cricket on a global scale.
The initial three matches will be hosted at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium in Greater Noida, while the final two T20Is will take place in Jaipur.
India has been gearing up for this series, wrapping up their national training camp just recently. The team is set to make their way to Greater Noida on January 25 in preparation for the series opener.
Commenting on the squad announcement, DCCI General Secretary Ravi Kant Chauhan stated, “This Indian squad showcases the rich diversity and strength of mixed disability cricket in our nation. The players have displayed exceptional dedication during their training, and this series against England will serve as a vital platform to demonstrate India's advancements. Such international exposure is essential for fortifying this format and motivating many aspiring cricketers.”
The England team touched down in India on Friday, arriving after a successful home series in 2025, where they triumphed over India 6–1 in the inaugural Mixed Disability international series.
