Inglis has scored 194 runs in four innings batting at the top of the order for LSG this season. He explained the mindset required in T20 batting: 'When you're batting at the top of the order in this format, you don't have much time to "build" an innings in the traditional sense; you have to get on with it as quickly as possible.'

On preparation and in-match adaptability, he noted that pre-game homework — studying the pitch and the opposition — is essential but must be combined with rapid adjustment once play begins. 'You don't have a long window to settle in, so you must identify your best scoring options immediately while maintaining a really positive mindset,' he said.

The Marsh Partnership and PBKS Familiarity

Inglis, who represented Punjab Kings during the IPL 2025 season, acknowledged that prior familiarity with several PBKS players could offer a marginal edge heading into the contest. 'Having played with many of these guys last year, I've spent a lot of time around them, and I know their skill sets well. That's definitely a bonus heading into tonight, but it doesn't guarantee success,' he said.

He also highlighted his partnership with Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh as one of the season's genuine positives. 'I've loved batting with Mitch; he's great at taking the pressure off me from the other end, and we've managed to form a really effective partnership,' Inglis noted, expressing hope of converting his knowledge of the opposition into a match-winning performance.
