Ahmedabad, April 19 (NationPress) The Gujarat Titans have emerged victorious at the toss and opted to bowl first against the Delhi Capitals during Match 35 of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.
The captain of DC, Axar Patel, playing in his home ground, acknowledged that he too would have liked to field first, reflecting on their impressive start to the season.
“I also wanted to field. I was confused as it was that hot. I was a little sceptical due to the weather. The bowlers might get tired under the sun. We will look to score well and focus on defense. A good start is essential, and we will concentrate on the process,” he stated at the toss.
“We are concentrating on our process and execution. Continuous improvement is key. The environment in the dressing room has been positive. It’s crucial to have clarity in our ideas. We have assigned clear roles. Sometimes you will succeed, and sometimes you won’t,” Axar added.
The Delhi Capitals have achieved five wins and suffered one loss in their six matches thus far, positioning them at the top of the points table with 10 points.
“We will bowl first. The temperature is quite high. The pitch looks good, but if it doesn't maintain sufficient grass cover, it could crack. Things are going well, and we don’t dwell on the past. It’s about showing up on the day. It takes a few weeks for the team to gel,” stated Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans have won four and lost two of their six matches up to this point, currently sitting in third place on the points table.
