ISL 2024-25: Mumbai City Aims to Maintain Strong Performance in Kolkata Against Mohammedan SC

Kolkata, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Kishore Bharati Krirangan will be the venue for the very first Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 meeting between Mohammedan SC and Mumbai City FC on Sunday.

The Islanders arrive at this match with an impressive record against unfamiliar teams in the ISL, having secured victories in their last four encounters and recorded just a single defeat in nine outings in Kolkata. Conversely, Mohammedan SC is still in search of their inaugural home win this season, having struggled to clinch a victory in any of their five home games (D1 L4). Their failure to maintain a clean sheet at home has further complicated their situation.

This match thus presents a clash of two divergent stories: Mumbai City FC’s drive for consistency against unknown rivals and Mohammedan SC’s efforts to turn their home form around.

Mohammedan SC's head coach Andrey Chernyshov emphasized the importance of proper preparation with his squad.

“For me, it’s crucial to work closely with the players, train them effectively, and ensure they are match-ready. Everything else outside of that does not concern me,” Chernyshov stated.

On the other side, Mumbai City FC head coach Petr Kratky expressed faith in his team's current form, stating that they are on the verge of finding their rhythm in front of goal soon.

“We have accomplished a lot of positive work this season, and we need to draw confidence from that. As we begin to score, our confidence will soar. I sense we are on the brink of that happening very soon,” Kratky noted.
