Dubai, July 8 (NationPress) The Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, has conveyed his heartfelt sorrow over the passing of Afghanistan umpire Bismillah Jan Shinwari, who sadly passed away at the age of 41.
An esteemed member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, Shinwari officiated in 25 ODIs and 21 T20Is, making his international debut in December 2017, during an ODI match between Afghanistan and Ireland in Sharjah. His last international duty was at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 held in Al Amerat, Oman, in February this year.
Shah expressed his condolences to the family of Bismillah, mourning the loss. He stated, “Bismillah was an esteemed umpire, held in high regard by players, fellow officials, and peers. He frequently graced the international cricket scene and had a promising future ahead.”
