On Monday, ICC Chairman Jay Shah introduced this campaign during the final ODI of the current three-match series against England.

"In conjunction with the 3rd ODI between India and England in Ahmedabad on February 12th, we are thrilled to unveil an awareness campaign - 'Donate Organs, Save Lives'. Sports possess the ability to motivate, unite, and leave a lasting influence beyond the game. Through this campaign, we encourage everyone to take meaningful action towards giving the most precious gift - the gift of life. One pledge, one choice, can save several lives. Let’s unite and create a positive impact!" Shah shared on X.

The BCCI additionally released a video featuring Indian players urging citizens to participate in this initiative.

"Achieve the ultimate century, your organs can assist others in living beyond your lifespan. Sign up as a donor and ensure every life matters," stated Virat Kohli in a video shared by BCCI on its social media platforms.

"Be the captain of life. Just as a captain leads a team to victory, you can guide someone to survival by committing to donate your organs," commented India vice-captain Shubman Gill.

"One donor can potentially save up to eight lives. Make your pledge today and score a six for humanity," added Shreyas Iyer.

"Play the ultimate winning shot. Your choice to donate your organs could be the match-winning moment in someone’s journey. Be a hero off the field too," remarked KL Rahul.

"Become the captain of compassion," suggested all-rounder Axar Patel. "Pledge to donate and motivate others to do the same."

"Lead by example. A single choice can be a game-changing shot for many," stated Hardik Pandya.

"Hit a six for humanity. One donor can save up to eight lives. Be the all-rounder the world needs," emphasized Ravindra Jadeja.

"Don’t let lives be bowled over. Thousands are in need of an organ transplant. Be the game changer and offer them a second chance at life," urged pacer Arshdeep Singh.

Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Rishabh Pant also appeared in the video, showing their support for the campaign.

As of now, India leads the series 2-0 after securing victories in the first two ODIs held in Nagpur and Cuttack, thus strengthening their preparations for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
