Kochi, Feb 28 (NationPress) In pursuit of their third consecutive victory, Kerala Blasters FC will take on Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium this Saturday. The route to qualification for Kerala Blasters FC is intricate as they rely on several other outcomes. Nonetheless, the clear strategy for them is to win all remaining matches. To date, they have accumulated 24 points from 21 matches, achieving seven wins and three draws.

Recently, Kerala Blasters FC has faced difficulties, particularly in their last two home fixtures where they failed to find the net, necessitating a resurgence in their offensive play. They remain unbeaten at home against Jamshedpur FC (P5 W2 D3). Jamshedpur FC, having already secured a playoff spot, aims for a league double after defeating the Kochi-based team 1-0 in the previous encounter.

In ISL history, Kerala Blasters FC has never gone three straight home games without scoring, and they are keen to maintain this streak in the upcoming match. This season, they have conceded 15 goals from set-pieces, ranking second in the league behind Hyderabad FC, who have allowed 17.

Jamshedpur FC recorded a clean sheet in their last away match (2-0 against Mohammedan SC). Their last achievement of winning two consecutive away games while maintaining shutouts dates back to December 2017. Historically, the two teams have clashed 17 times, with Kerala Blasters FC winning five matches and Jamshedpur FC four, while eight matches ended in draws.

Interim head coach TG Purushothaman of Kerala Blasters FC stated his focus ahead of the match against Jamshedpur FC: “Our sole objective now is to secure a win in the upcoming game. Particularly because we are competing at home, we aim to perform well. We need to keep pushing hard to achieve a positive outcome,” he remarked.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC’s head coach Khalid Jamil assured that his team will maintain their intensity despite having qualified for the playoffs. “We have prepared for this match with the same seriousness as we have for all our previous games,” he mentioned.
