New Delhi, May 14 (NationPress) Harschit D. from Uttar Pradesh and Nishika Aggarwal representing Telangana stood out as the leading athletes in the artistic gymnastics events during the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025, held at the IG Stadium Sports Complex on Wednesday. The dynamic duo of Khelo India Athletes (KIA) maintained their impressive medal streak, concluding their participation on a triumphant note.
After securing gold in their all-round final events the previous day, Harschit achieved a remarkable feat by winning double gold in the Floor Exercise and Vaulting Table categories, along with a silver in the Still Rings event.
“I feel accomplished. This marks my third edition. Last time in Tamil Nadu KIYG, I earned three medals, and I’m thrilled to have exceeded that this time. My progress has been substantial, thanks to my coaches,” remarked Harschit, 17, in an interview with SAI Media.
“Being part of the Khelo India initiative for two years has greatly motivated my training,” he added.
Nishika, also 17, won gold in the Vaulting Table event and earned two bronze medals in the Uneven Bars and Balancing Beam categories on the same day. However, she expressed some disappointment with her overall performance.
“Overall, it’s been a good competition, but I wish I had performed better in the events where I earned bronze, particularly on the floor, where I didn’t make the top three. I felt I underperformed today after several consecutive days of competition, but it’s a learning experience,” Nishika stated.
