New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul reflected on the highs and lows he has encountered throughout his extensive international career spanning over a decade.

The 32-year-old has taken on various roles within the Indian team since making his debut in 2014, participating in more than 200 international matches across three formats. From starting as an opener to transitioning into a middle-order position and even a finisher, Rahul has been thoroughly tested and has excelled in every challenge.

With an impressive 8,565 runs in international cricket, Rahul expressed gratitude for the chance to represent India.

"This journey has been remarkable - it’s a true privilege to represent my country and fulfill my dreams for so many years. Playing for India has been my aspiration since childhood, and I feel incredibly thankful to have this opportunity. The journey has had its share of challenges - I’ve faced both highs and lows, experiencing everything an athlete can. Reflecting back, it’s been a beautiful journey, and I wouldn't change a thing. Now, I look forward to the next ten years of my career, eager to build on what I’ve learned in my first decade, apply that experience, and keep evolving. My main focus is on daily improvement, growing as a player, and winning more matches for my team," Rahul shared on JioHotstar's Superstars.

When asked about his favorite batting position, Rahul stated, "I’ve always played in the top order. Since my first competitive match in Mangalore at the age of 11, and throughout my early days with India, I have predominantly been a top-order batter. It’s the role I feel most comfortable with and find most natural. However, in a team sport, one must be adaptable and ready to meet the team’s requirements. Over time, I’ve learned to embrace that flexibility and give my all in whatever role I’m assigned."

Following his crucial contribution to India's title-winning performance in the ICC Champions Trophy, Rahul is set to wear the Delhi Capitals jersey in the upcoming IPL 2025 season, commencing on March 22.
