New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Indian cricketer KL Rahul is poised to rejoin the Ranji Trophy as he has been included in Karnataka's team for their league match against Haryana, scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from January 30 to February 2.

Rahul missed Karnataka's recent victory over Punjab due to an elbow issue but is now declared fit for the crucial encounter against the top team in Elite Group C, which is vital for Karnataka’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.

It has been reported that Rahul will train with the Karnataka squad on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 32-year-old last participated in a Ranji Trophy match in February 2020 against Bengal at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. His most recent domestic red-ball appearance was with India A during the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru in September of the previous year.

Rahul's inclusion ensures that Karnataka is at full strength for their matchup against Haryana, featuring other notable players like Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Prasidh Krishna. Pacer Vidwath Kaverappa has also been selected after recovering from an injury sustained during the Duleep Trophy.

Meanwhile, prominent batsman Virat Kohli is expected to practice with the Delhi team on Tuesday ahead of his first Ranji Trophy match since 2012. Reports indicate that Kohli has notified the DDCA regarding his availability for their final group match against Railways, which will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium from January 30 to February 2.

Kohli skipped Delhi's last match, where they faced a ten-wicket defeat against Saurashtra in Rajkot, due to a neck strain. Recently, social media has been buzzing with images of Kohli training with former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batting coach Sanjay Bangar at a facility outside Mumbai.

Other Indian players participating in the final league phase of the Ranji Trophy include all-rounder Riyan Parag, who will lead Assam against Saurashtra after recovering from a shoulder surgery, while pacer Mohammed Siraj is set to play for Hyderabad against Vidarbha in Nagpur.
