Karandeep Kochhar carded a bogey-free 4-under 68 on the final day of the US$500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic in El Jadida, Morocco, finishing tied ninth — his third top-10 of the season — and climbing to 12th place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit. Sweden's Charlie Lindh claimed the title in commanding fashion, closing with an eagle on the 18th hole for a four-shot win at 18-under par.

Lindh's Dominant Victory

Charlie Lindh began the final round three shots behind overnight leader Settee Prakongvech of Thailand but produced the best round of the tournament — an 8-under 64 — to overhaul the field. Lindh reached the edge of the 18th green in two shots and holed a 20-foot putt from the fringe for eagle, sealing the win in style. His caddie for the week was childhood friend Isaac Bondesson.

'It feels good…feels really good. Feels like I'm still focused, but when everything settles a little bit, I will realise what I have done today. I have been playing well coming into this week, and I have been very, very excited to play golf the last couple of months, because the game has been feeling better. And thankfully, I got some good results today,' Lindh said after his round. The win lifts Lindh to third place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, building on a runner-up finish at the Kolon Korea Open in his previous start.

Kochhar's Consistent Week

The Chandigarh golfer's rounds of 66-73-70-68 added up to 11-under par for the tournament. Kochhar hit fairways and greens in regulation with notable consistency throughout the week, accumulating 16 birdies across four rounds. However, his putter proved costly — he needed 28 or more putts on each of the four days, including 34 putts in his second-round 73. Birdies on the 3rd, 10th, 11th, and 14th holes powered his clean final-round card.

The 28-year-old, who won the IGPL Dubai earlier in the season and finished tied fifth at the International Series Japan, is now targeting the US$2 million International Series Morocco next week. Kochhar, who secured his Asian Tour card after a maiden win on the Asian Development Tour in Egypt, continues to search for his first Asian Tour title.

Other Indian Performances

Gaganjeet Bhullar (75-70-69-68) and Yashas Chandra (75-68-71-68) both finished at 6-under, sharing tied 27th. Bhullar posted five birdies against one bogey in his final round, while Chandra was bogey-free in his closing 68.

Rashid Khan (3-under, final round 71) finished tied 41st, alongside Kartik Singh (71) and Sachin Baisoya (67). Baisoya's round featured two eagles — on the par-5 third and par-5 seventh — while Kartik's card included seven birdies, two bogeys, and two double bogeys. Shaurya Bhattacharya finished tied 52nd after a 71, while Aman Raj (70) was tied 56th, Pukhraj Singh Gill (75) tied 59th, and Raghav Chugh (77) and Udayan Mane (73) shared tied 64th. Amateur Jai Bahl (74) wrapped up at tied 67th.

Final Leaderboard Highlights

Thailand's Settee Prakongvech, the overnight leader, carded a final-round 71 and slipped to a tie for second at 14-under, joined by American Charles Porter (66). Porter had been level with Lindh playing the 18th at 16-under but pushed his second shot into the hazard and made a double bogey. Thailand's Sarit Suwannarut (66) and England's Sam Broadhurst (68) shared fourth place, while American Marcus Plunkett (66) and Thai duo Poom Saksansin (69) and Runchanapong Youprayong (70) tied for sixth at 12-under. Morocco's Ayoub Lguirati (69) was the leading home player, finishing tied 13th at 9-under.

The tournament, co-sanctioned by the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) and the Asian Tour, now gives way to the higher-stakes US$2 million International Series Morocco, where Kochhar and Lindh will be among the ones to watch.
