Mumbai, Jan 22 (NationPress) witnessed a remarkable display as girls from Maharashtra dominated the Girls U-17 semifinals of the Four-Star Willingdon Sports Club Squash Classic Open 2025 held at the WSC Squash courts on Wednesday.
Diva Shah, seeded (3/4), faced off against the top seed from Delhi, Sanvi Batar. After losing the first game, Diva staged a strong comeback, winning 8-11, 13-11, 11-6, 11-7.
Encouraged by this victory, her fellow Maharashtra player Eesha Shrivastava (3/4) took on the second seed from Tamil Nadu, Vyomika Khandelwal. Eesha began with a strong lead, but lost focus in the next two games, leading to a tense finale. Ultimately, Eesha showcased her stamina and composure, securing a victory with a score of 15-13, 11-9, 9-11, 10-12, 11-6.
