Maheshwari's total of 118 placed her two points shy of the joint sixth position, while Abhay's score of 121 was even closer, as Jack Fairclough from Ireland secured the sixth and final qualifying position with a score of 122.

Earlier in the day, Maheshwari (22, 25, 24, 25), despite a flawless final round, couldn't overcome her two rounds of 22 from the first day, as the shoot-off for the fifth and sixth qualifying spots in women's skeet was set at 120.

Abhay Sekhon (25, 24, 24, 25, 23) had high hopes, finishing day two in fifth place, but two misses in his last round left him in 16th place, despite a commendable overall performance throughout the three days.
