London, April 18 (NationPress) Daniel Munoz has secured a contract extension with Crystal Palace that will see him remain with the club until the summer of 2028.

Since his transfer from Genk in January 2024, the Colombian international has been a key figure in Palace’s achievements, contributing six goals and ten assists across 54 appearances in the team's iconic red and blue colors.

Munoz shared, "From day one, I felt the energy on the field at Selhurst Park – now, it's my home. This new contract is more than just a signature; it's a promise to keep fighting with passion and heart for the fans who live every moment with us," in a video released by Palace.

In the current season, Munoz has netted crucial goals in Palace's FA Cup journey against Doncaster Rovers and Millwall, scored the decisive goal against Brighton & Hove Albion at Selhurst Park, secured the club’s Goal of the Month award twice, and was recognized as Palace Player of the Month in February.

Defensively, no other Premier League defender has made more tackles than Munoz’s 106 this season, and he ranks prominently among the league’s leading full-backs for both sprints and distance covered.

Chairman Steve Parish commented, “This is fantastic news for Crystal Palace. Daniel is the epitome of an excellent professional, giving his all in every match and training session.

“He has made a significant impact since arriving in South London last year, and I am thrilled that he has chosen to commit his future to the club.”

The Colombian international began his journey in his homeland, moving to Atletico Nacional, the most successful club in the country. He transitioned to Europe in 2020 with a transfer to Genk, where he clinched the Belgian Cup in his debut season before making his way to London in 2024.

His international career kicked off in 2021, and he has since earned 38 caps for Los Cafeteros, including participation in Colombia’s run to the semi-finals of the Copa America, where they were narrowly defeated by Lionel Messi’s Argentina on penalties.
