Pathum Nissanka and Chamari Athapaththu claimed the top honours at the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Awards ceremony in Colombo on 7 August, winning the men's and women's Cricketer of the Year titles respectively for their standout performances across formats in 2025. The ceremony also celebrated domestic contributions and bestowed Lifetime Achievement Awards on four stalwarts of Sri Lankan cricket.

Nissanka's Record-Breaking Year

Pathum Nissanka earned the men's top honour after accumulating 1,414 runs across all formats at an average of 40.40 in 2025. His year broke down into 388 runs from five Test innings, 401 runs from 12 ODIs, and a blistering 625 runs from 18 T20Is at a strike rate of 149.16. Nissanka also swept the Best Batter awards in both Tests and T20Is, underlining his dominance across the longer and shortest formats.

Other Men's Award Winners

Charith Asalanka was named Best ODI Batter after scoring 494 runs, while Dushmantha Chameera claimed the Best T20I Bowler award for his 22 wickets in 14 games. Asitha Fernando took the Best ODI Bowler honour with 23 wickets. Prabath Jayasuriya was named Best Test Bowler, Dhananjaya de Silva won Best Test Allrounder, Dasun Shanaka claimed Best T20I Allrounder, and Wanindu Hasaranga took the Best ODI Allrounder award.

Chamari Sweeps Women's Honours

Sri Lanka women's captain Chamari Athapaththu reinforced her standing as the nation's premier women's cricketer by sweeping multiple categories. She was named Best T20I Batter for her 190 runs and Best ODI Bowler for her 13 wickets, and also claimed the allrounder awards in both white-ball formats. Harshitha Samarawickrama won the Best ODI Batter award after topping the women's run charts with 441 runs, while Kavisha Dilhari was named Best T20I Bowler for her 8 wickets.

Emerging Talent and Special Recognition

Kamil Mishara was named Men's Emerging Player of the Year and Imesha Dulani won the Women's Emerging Player of the Year award. Veteran umpire Ravindra Kottahachchi was recognised as Umpire of the Year. The evening's most poignant moments came with Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to pre-Test captains Michael Tissera and Anura Tennekoon, veteran sports journalist Reemus Fernando, and broadcasting personality Kelum Srimal for their enduring contributions to Sri Lankan cricket.
