Novak Djokovic Praises Coach Andy Murray for Revitalizing His Game

Brisbane, Dec 29 (NationPress) Novak Djokovic, who teamed up with the recently retired Andy Murray, praised his new head coach, asserting that the Scottish icon has assisted the 24-time Grand Slam champion in obtaining a fresh perspective on his game.
Djokovic’s coaching collaboration with Murray was announced less than four months after the 37-year-old Scot announced his retirement at the Paris Olympics, where Djokovic secured gold—the final major accolade he had yet to achieve.
"He possesses a unique insight into my game as one of my greatest rivals. He understands the strengths and weaknesses of my play. Having competed recently on tour, he is also aware of the other top players in the world, including the younger competitors, and their respective game attributes. I am genuinely looking forward to this partnership," Djokovic shared during a press conference.
"I believe he is introducing a fresh approach to my game, and I am certain that I will benefit from it on the court. Moreover, his champion mentality is something I am confident will complement my style well," Djokovic added.
Murray spent ten days with Djokovic to prepare for the season's start. Although he is not in Brisbane, where the Serbian is competing in the Brisbane International alongside Nick Kyrgios in doubles, they have shared considerable time together, both on and off the court, in recent weeks.
Djokovic noted that Murray will join him in Melbourne for a training week in advance of the Australian Open.
"The ten days we spent together were fantastic. I appreciated every moment. He is very meticulous, dedicated, and professional. It doesn't surprise me, as I've known him for many years as a player. This new chapter as a coach is an unexpected but exciting experience for both of us," he concluded.
