Chandigarh, Nov 8 (NationPress) Top Indian golfers including 2025 PGTI Ranking leader Yuvraj Sandhu, Arjun Prasad, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Angad Cheema, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Manu Gandas are set to compete in the inaugural edition of the Trident Open golf tournament, which will take place at the Chandigarh Golf Club from November 11 – 14, 2025. The tournament boasts a prize purse of INR 1 crore.
The event was jointly unveiled by the Trident Group and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official governing body of professional golf in India, on Saturday. Prior to the main event, an Am-Am event is scheduled for November 8 and a Pro-Am event on November 9.
Alongside Yuvraj Sandhu and Angad Cheema, the Chandigarh Tricity will also feature names like Jairaj Singh Sandhu, Akshay Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Brijesh Kumar, Raunil Kukar, Anant Singh Ahlawat, Amrit Lal, Chandarjeet Yadav, Brashwarpal Singh, Umed Kumar (PGTI NEXGEN Order of Merit champion), Vasu Sehgal, and Vishav Pratap Singh Gill.
Prominent international participants include Sri Lankans N. Thangaraja and K. Prabagaran, Bangladeshis Jamal Hossain, Md Siddikur Rahman, Badal Hossain, and Md Akbar Hossain, Americans Koichiro Sato and Derek Trofimczuk, Nepal’s Subash Tamang, Italy’s Federico Zucchetti, and Uganda’s Joshua Seale.
The young talent Shubham Jaglan, a former India No. 1 in the Junior Category who has been competing in the United States, will make his PGTI debut at the Trident Open.
This tournament features 72 holes of stroke play with a field of 126 players, including 123 professionals and three amateurs. The cut will occur after the initial 36 holes, with the top 50 players and ties advancing to the subsequent 36 holes.

The tournament venue, Chandigarh Golf Club, features a challenging 7,202-yard, 18-hole, Par-72 course, known for its narrow fairways bordered by thick mango, jamun, eucalyptus, and kikar trees. The course includes several dogleg holes, where tall trees often guard the corners, leaving little room for shortcuts. Notably, it also houses one of the longest Par-5 holes in India, the seventh, stretching 613 yards.
