The Indian team made a strong start in Turn 1, dominating the game. Within three batches, the Nepal women were eliminated with simple touches on seven occasions, securing 14 points for India. Captain Priyanka Ingle showcased remarkable form, contributing multiple touchpoints, propelling the Women in Blue to a total of 34 points and thwarting any chance for a Dream Run by the Nepal team.
Manmati Dhami managed to eliminate Vaishnavi Pawar and Samjhana B took out Priyanka Ingle, but Chaithra B led India into the Dream Run in Turn 2. Although Dipa completed the ALL OUT shortly after, bringing the side back into the game, they could only accumulate 24 points by the end of Turn 2, trailing by 11 points at halftime.
Team India reasserted dominance in Turn 3, not allowing the Nepal defenders to gain momentum. Despite Dipa BK's efforts for Nepal, it proved futile as the Indians pushed closer to the trophy.
Chaithra B was the mastermind behind India’s Dream Run, elevating the score to a staggering 78 points in Turn 4. Their batch lasted a remarkable 5 minutes and 14 seconds, sealing the match for India and crowning them as the inaugural champions of the Kho Kho World Cup 2025.
India’s remarkable journey to victory included commanding wins against South Korea, IR Iran, and Malaysia in the group stages, followed by a decisive victory over Bangladesh in the quarter-finals and a spectacular win over South Africa in the semi-finals. This extraordinary achievement not only makes India the first world champion but also signifies a pivotal moment for this indigenous sport on the global stage.
