Premier League: Madueke Acknowledges Coach Maresca for Chelsea’s Offensive Momentum

London, Dec 7 (NationPress) Noni Madueke is of the opinion that head coach Enzo Maresca warrants substantial praise for quickly implementing his philosophy to an impressive degree. Although Maresca has only been at the helm of the Blues for five months, he has already propelled the team to second place in the Premier League and the lead in the UEFA Conference League standings.
No other team has found the back of the net more than Chelsea in either competition this season, with a remarkable total of 49 goals from just 18 matches. Additionally, it is noteworthy that only two teams – Liverpool (11) and Arsenal (14) – have conceded fewer than 15 goals in the Premier League this season, indicating that the Blues are performing well defensively as well.
“We’re making progress. The atmosphere is positive in the locker room currently. Everyone is relishing their football. A lot of credit goes to the gaffer and the coaching staff for fostering unity within the squad, and naturally, when goals are being scored, morale is high.
“We hope that our supporters are enjoying our style of play. It’s exhilarating to be a part of, and it certainly requires considerable effort, particularly when we press aggressively across the field and engage in man-to-man defense. It’s not solely about scoring; it’s also about demonstrating defensive strength and controlling individual matchups,” he remarked.
The outlook for Chelsea appears promising as they possess the youngest squad in the Premier League, with the average age of their starting lineup being below 24 for most of this season.
Madueke, who is just 22 years old, stated, “Being part of this youthful group is enjoyable. We may be young, but we exhibit maturity and are assertive on the field. We do have a structure in place. When quality players are on the pitch, much of it comes down to instinct; however, if we find ourselves in new positions, it’s crucial that we maintain the structure without compromising it. We’re managing that effectively,” he added.
Madueke has played a vital role in Chelsea’s achievements this season, starting in 12 of their last 13 Premier League matches after missing the opening game against Manchester City.
This Sunday, Madueke will make a return to Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent several years in their academy during his teenage years, before opting to transfer to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands at the age of 16. “This match against Tottenham is significant; it’s a rivalry that the fans deeply care about, and we take it very, very seriously. We’ll ensure we recover well and be fully prepared for the challenge against Spurs,” concluded the English player.
