Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have revealed their new match jersey for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, showcasing a vibrant redesign that prominently features their iconic red and blue colors.
Under the leadership of India's ODI vice-captain, Shreyas Iyer, and the guidance of renowned Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting, PBKS finished as runners-up in IPL 2025, narrowly losing to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a thrilling final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The franchise highlighted that a lion emblem is centrally positioned, transitioning into diamond-shaped patterns throughout the fabric. “The lion symbolizes instinct, aggression, and innate talent, while the diamonds embody the transformation of that talent through rigorous preparation, high-performance systems, and the challenges presented by elite competition,” the franchise elaborated.
Earlier, other franchises, including the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Lucknow Super Giants, also showcased their IPL 2026 jerseys. The Punjab Kings' new jersey will make its debut on the field during the upcoming season, starting with a home match against the IPL 2022 champions, Gujarat Giants, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on March 31.
Following this, they will visit Chennai to face CSK at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 3, and then head to Kolkata to battle the three-time winners, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at Eden Gardens on April 6. PBKS will return home for a match against the 2016 champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The franchise commenced its IPL 2026 preparations with a five-day pre-season camp in Udaipur from January 16-20. This was followed by a training camp at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from February 8-14. Currently, they are engaged in another pre-season camp in Dharamsala, their second home venue for IPL 2026.
