New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has unveiled a 36-member junior squad representing India for the inaugural International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun, set to take place in Suhl, Germany, from May 19-27, 2025. This squad will compete in 15 events, including three mixed-team categories.

Paris Olympic participant Raiza Dhillon is included in the 12-member shotgun team, alongside two notable shooters from the Peru World Cup, Mukesh Nelavali, who secured five golds and two bronze medals, and Divanshi, who achieved a double gold, including a victory in the women's 25m pistol individual event.

The selected athletes aim to maintain India's supremacy in the junior shooting circuit, especially after the impressive performance in the final event of last year's international junior circuit—the Junior World Championships in Peru—where they clinched an outstanding 13 gold medals.

“With a home Junior World Cup approaching in September, the juniors are eager to showcase their skills while keeping that in mind. We have confidence in our future talents; they are under the vigilant guidance of seasoned coaches and enjoy strong support from the Government. We anticipate a commendable performance,” remarked Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President of NRAI.

Suhl, known as a traditional center for junior shooting competitions, has been a starting point for many champions over the years, and all eyes will be on the Indian juniors as they prepare for Los Angeles 2028.
