On April 1, in Jaipur, Rajasthan United clinched a convincing 2-0 victory over Chanmari FC during the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26, held at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium. The goals came from Naoba Meitei and Amadou Soukouna, both netting in the second half, allowing Rajasthan United to temporarily ascend to the top of the league standings.

With this win, Rajasthan United accumulated 11 points from six matches, temporarily placing them at the top, while Chanmari FC found themselves in eighth position with just five points. Amadou Soukouna was named Player of the Match.

In his debut match as head coach, Dipankur Sharma made three modifications to the Chanmari starting lineup, introducing foreign defenders Kyle Degelman and Marlon Angel to replace Malsawmsanga Renthlei and F. Malsawmtluanga, and bringing in KC Malsawmsanga to replace Joel Lalramengmawia in the attack. On the other hand, Vikrant Sharma retained his original squad for the home team.

Chanmari FC began with more attacking vigor, utilizing the speed of KC Malsawmsanga and Jota on the flanks. Conversely, Rajasthan attempted to orchestrate plays from their own half through short passes, occasionally opting for long balls aimed at Soukouna.

The best opportunity for Rajasthan came halfway through the first half, but Thomyo Shimray squandered a chance by shooting wide from a right-side cross. Meanwhile, Chanmari striker Suanngaihmuana failed to challenge the goalkeeper effectively with a weak header following a cross from Malsawmsanga.

With the sweltering heat affecting play, both teams went into halftime without a score.

After halftime, the introduction of Naoba Meitei proved beneficial for Rajasthan United, as just seven minutes into the second half, he received the ball at the edge of the box, skillfully evaded Degelman, and executed a remarkable finish from a tight angle, putting his team ahead.

Rajasthan extended their lead eight minutes later with a breathtaking long-range shot by Amadou Soukouna. Following a recovery of the ball in midfield, Gautam Virwani set Soukouna up with a straightforward pass, and he unleashed a powerful strike from distance that left the goalkeeper helpless.

With a two-goal cushion, Rajasthan United fortified their defense, inviting Chanmari FC to advance into their half. The visitors pushed for opportunities, but their final passes and finishing lacked the precision to challenge the home team’s defense, allowing Rajasthan to maintain their unbeaten home record.
