Rangers Football Club Names Fraser Thornton as New Chairman

Glasgow, December 14 (NationPress) Rangers Football Club has officially revealed the appointment of Fraser Thornton as the new Chairman, confirming his start date will be December 16. Thornton brings a wealth of experience, having held numerous senior leadership and board roles in both private and public sectors.
With three decades of experience in the international drinks industry, Thornton possesses significant expertise in stakeholder engagement, covering political, commercial, and public interest groups.
“On behalf of the board, I am thrilled to welcome Fraser to the club as Chair. As a lifelong fan and season ticket-holder, he has an in-depth understanding of the club. His successful executive track record and extensive non-executive experience make him a perfect candidate for this position.

From 1996 to 2021, he held various executive leadership roles in international companies across multiple regions. He served as a council member of the Scotch Whisky Association for 15 years until 2021. Since then, he has taken on several non-executive roles and is currently the Interim Chair of Scottish Golf.
“We eagerly anticipate welcoming him and our CEO Patrick Stewart to their new positions on Monday. My time as Interim Chair of this club has been both a remarkable and emotional journey. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the board for their confidence in me and for their support throughout this period,” he added.
