Bengaluru, April 15 (NationPress) In a stunning display of bowling, Rasikh Salam Dar took four wickets, leading the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to bowl out Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for a mere 146 runs during the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, held at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

After losing the toss, LSG's innings got off to a sluggish start as openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram struggled against the disciplined bowling from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. The pair could only manage 14 runs without loss after two overs.

Marsh finally broke the deadlock in the third over, smashing a colossal 102-metre six off Bhuvneshwar. Markram soon followed with a six of his own, but his innings was cut short as he mistimed a slower delivery from Rasikh Salam Dar, falling to Devdutt Padikkal for 12 runs off 8 balls.

In a further blow, captain Rishabh Pant suffered an elbow injury and had to exit the game after facing just three balls. His replacement, Nicholas Pooran, failed to leave a mark, getting bowled by Hazlewood in the seventh over.

Despite these setbacks, Marsh steadied the ship alongside Ayush Badoni, accumulating a swift 36 runs in 22 balls. However, the partnership ended in the 10th over when Krunal Pandya dismissed Marsh with a fuller delivery. Marsh ended up as the top scorer with 40 runs off 32 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes.

Krunal struck again shortly after, removing Abdul Samad for a duck, which further dented LSG's chances.

Badoni tried to stabilize the innings, forming a partnership with young talent Mukul Choudhary that featured sensible strike rotation and timely boundaries. Unfortunately, Badoni was out in the 16th over, caught behind off a short, slower ball from Rasikh, having scored 38 runs from 24 balls.

Pant returned to bat later but struggled to find form, getting dismissed for just one run in the 17th over. Mukul fought valiantly, scoring 39 runs off 28 balls, but wickets continued to tumble, and he was ultimately bowled by Rasikh in the final over as LSG was bundled out for 146.

Among the bowlers, Rasikh shone brightly with four wickets while Bhuvneshwar contributed three. Hazlewood's economical figures of 1/20 in four overs played a crucial role in limiting the opposition's score.

Brief Scores: Lucknow Super Giants 146/10 in 20 overs (Mitchell Marsh 40, Mukul Choudhary 39; Rasikh Dar 4-24, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3-27) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
