Madrid, Aug 11 (NationPress) Atletico Madrid has made it official with the announcement of Giacomo Raspadori's transfer from Napoli, as confirmed by the club on Monday.

The Italian forward successfully passed his medical examination at the Vithas - Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre, situated within the Arturo Soria University Hospital in Madrid. Following that, he made his way to the club’s headquarters at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, where he inked a five-year contract.

Raspadori joins the club for a reported fee reaching up to 26 million Euros, including performance-related add-ons. He is the second Italian player to join the red side of Madrid this summer, following Matteo Ruggeri's transfer from Atalanta.

Born in Bentivoglio on February 18, 2000, Raspadori is celebrated for his versatility, adept at playing in various attacking roles as well as behind main strikers. His football journey commenced at the Sassuolo Academy in 2009. After ten years of development, he made his senior debut on May 26, 2019, in a Serie A match against Atalanta.

During his tenure at Sassuolo, Raspadori made 82 appearances, netting 18 goals and providing nine assists. In the summer of 2022, he transferred to Napoli, where he enjoyed notable success, contributing to two Serie A title victories in 2022/23 and 2024/25, scoring 18 goals and assisting 10 across 109 matches.

On the international stage, Raspadori has represented Italy since his senior debut on June 4, 2021, in a warm-up match for EURO 2020. He participated in the tournament, where Italy claimed the championship. To date, he has earned 40 caps for the national team, scoring nine goals and providing six assists.

With his extensive experience, accomplishments, and attacking finesse, Raspadori significantly enhances Atletico Madrid’s forward lineup as the club prepares for a competitive upcoming season.
