Palamuru Strikers claimed their first victory of TG20 Season 1, defeating Medak Falcons by five wickets in the second match of the day on 25 June, thanks to a disciplined bowling display and Rohit Rayudu's unbeaten 54 off 42 balls in the run chase. The Strikers reached their target of 165 with 13 balls to spare in the Hyderabad Cricket Association's TG20 tournament.

Strikers Strangle Falcons in First Innings

Palamuru Strikers set the tone with the ball, keeping Medak Falcons under constant pressure throughout their 20-over innings. Ravi Kiran struck in the very first over, removing Purnanand Rao for just 1 off 2 balls, before returning in the fourth over to dismiss Naman Agarwal (21 off 13) and further check the Falcons' momentum.

After Ahwinan Ram (12 off 10) retired out, captain Ravi Teja and Shrunjith Reddy (19 off 19) attempted a rebuild. Rathan Teja clean bowled Shrunjith before Rohit Rayudu had Ravi Teja edging behind to wicketkeeper Pragnay Reddy after a brisk 13 off seven deliveries, reducing the Falcons to a precarious 77/5.

Vignesh and Rayudu Anchor the Chase

Medak Falcons made an ideal start with the ball as Varun Yerram dismissed Karan Yadav (0 off 1) in the opening over, before removing Pragnay Reddy (15 off 10) to leave the Strikers at 2/2 under early pressure.

Vignesh Reddy joined Rohit Rayudu at the crease and the pair forged a composed 59-run stand off just 36 balls, rotating the strike and punishing the loose deliveries. Syed Ghazi Abbas broke the partnership by dismissing the dangerous Vignesh (39 off 22), and Shrunjith Reddy then clean bowled Shadab Ahmed (3 off 3) to give the Falcons fresh hope.

Rayudu's Maiden Fifty Seals the Deal

Rohit Rayudu remained the anchor throughout, finding support from Rathan Teja (23 off 20) before the latter was bowled by Ravi Teja. Rayudu brought up his maiden half-century of the season in style, launching Shrunjith Reddy for a six in the 18th over. Pratheek Pawar then finished the chase emphatically with a couple of boundaries, taking the Strikers home with 13 balls to spare.

The result gives Palamuru Strikers their first points on the board in TG20 Season 1, with the tournament set to continue in the coming days.
