Rinku Singh was named India's 'Best Attitude of the Match' after the visitors sealed a 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe with a commanding 35-run victory in the third and final game at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, 28 July. The award, instituted by India's tour head coach VVS Laxman, recognises the player who best embodies the team's values, commitment, and attitude across each match of the series.

About the Award

The 'Best Attitude of the Match' honour was introduced specifically for this tour by VVS Laxman and has been presented after every game. Vice-captain Tilak Varma received the recognition following the first T20I, and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan claimed it after India's win in the second match. Rinku Singh completed the set for the third game, making it a different winner each time across the series.

India's strength and conditioning coach A.I. Harsha announced the award and offered a detailed rationale for Rinku's selection. 'If there is one thing that differentiates between a good and a great player, it is their ability to handle pressure. The ability to handle pressure is determined by your attitude. The great ones look at pressure with pleasure and anticipation. Our contender for today looked at it with great intent. He has been really consistent, irrespective of how he has played, what he has done on the field or off the field. All of us as coaches felt that he has been extremely consistent and relentless with what he has done,' Harsha said in a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Harsha added: 'He has stuck to his routines no matter what. Today's award is not for being there on the field or off the field, but for consistently showing that passion, intent and attitude. It is none other than Rinku Singh.'

Accepting the medal, Rinku kept his response characteristically brief and grounded. 'Thank you so much for the lovely medal and thank you so much Mr Harsha. It was a good series, and everyone put in a good effort. Thank you so much,' he said.

Rinku's Contribution in the Third T20I

Rinku Singh contributed a useful cameo of 25 off 14 balls, hitting two fours and a six, as India posted 192/5 after opting to bat first. The innings was anchored by teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who struck a composed 81 off 49 balls, with Ishan Kishan chipping in with 29.

In the chase, India's bowlers were clinical. Express pacer Mayank Yadav returned figures of 3 for 29, while Yash Thakur claimed two wickets as Zimbabwe were restricted to 157/7.
