Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) The prominent figures of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have successfully retained their A+ category contracts, even after stepping away from the T20I format. This announcement comes as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the annual player retainership for the men's team for the 2024-25 season on Monday.
The elite BCCI contract provides an annual remuneration of Rs 7 crore in addition to match fees and incentives. The senior players Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who have also retired from T20Is, continue to hold their A+ category contracts.
In a significant update, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have re-entered the contract roster, with Iyer securing a B category contract while Kishan is placed in the C category.
Both players were omitted last year due to their lack of participation in domestic matches.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who has retired from international cricket, is replaced by Rishabh Pant in the A category, while the other five players in this category remain unchanged. Pant was previously listed in the B category for last season’s contracts.
