Hyderabad, April 4 (NationPress) Since making his mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022, Sai Sudharsan has captivated cricket enthusiasts with his graceful performances and remarkable shot-making. In IPL 2025, Sudharsan has maintained exceptional form, accumulating 186 runs in three matches for Gujarat Titans, positioning him as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer.

Sudharsan, a left-handed opener who has also participated in three ODIs and a T20I for India, believes that the experience he has gained from competing in the IPL has significantly enhanced his growth and development as a T20 batsman.

“I would say the most crucial aspect has been the experience I've gained over these three years of playing numerous matches and having ample game time in the IPL, as that’s the most vital component,” he remarked.

“I feel I've enhanced my batting because once you become accustomed to specific scenarios, that’s when significant learning occurs. My insights stem from being in those situations, as that is when you acquire a great deal of knowledge and strive to improve,” Sudharsan shared with IANS during an episode of the JioStar Press Room show on Friday.

During GT's eight-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Wednesday night, while scoring a 49 off 36 balls, the broadcasters displayed visuals of Sudharsan envisioning his scoop, straight drive, and wristy flick, which he executed effectively against fast bowlers.

This demonstrated that Sudharsan is a firm believer in visualizing his shots and executing them flawlessly during matches. “In terms of preparation, I believe the most essential aspect for me is visualization and putting in hard work during practice. I analyze the bowler's actions.

“I then try to leverage tactical advantages from those bowlers, first testing it out in the nets to see if it’s feasible against them and if it can be executed in the game. I start with some balls on the ground, visualize it, and then attempt it in the match,” he added.

The composed Sudharsan, who will next take the field when GT faces Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, concluded by sharing his mindset while batting.

“It’s just the drive to score runs and contribute to the team’s success whenever possible. It’s about always pushing your limits and not settling for past achievements. I strive to constantly improve whenever I can—that's my mindset going into each game.”
