Dubai, March 9 (NationPress) Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who has been named the Player of the Tournament, spearheads the triumphant squad after amassing 321 runs across just five innings. Although initially not included in the Indian starting lineup, Samson showcased his talent by earning Player of the Match honors against West Indies and England. He also set the record for the highest individual score in a Men’s T20 World Cup final, scoring 89 runs against New Zealand on Sunday.

Joining him are teammates Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, as India celebrates its remarkable home triumph.

Kishan contributed 317 runs, ranking fourth overall among players, while leading India's batting with an impressive strike rate of 193.29, playing a pivotal role in the team’s success.

He delivered an exceptional 77 runs in his opening innings against Pakistan, later transitioning to the third spot in the batting order and adding critical performances against England and New Zealand, which included a half-century in the final.

Pandya, recognized for his all-round abilities, is the third Indian batsman on the list. He recorded two half-centuries and made significant impacts with the ball, including a quick 52 off 28 against Namibia. He concluded the tournament with a total of nine wickets.

Bumrah, the final Indian representative, was awarded Player of the Match in the final due to his stellar bowling. He shared the title of the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets from eight matches, and in the final, he claimed four wickets for 15 runs, maintaining an overall economy rate of 6.21.

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan finished as the tournament's top run-scorer with 383 runs, averaging 76.60 and securing two centuries—one against Sri Lanka and another against Namibia.

Aiden Markram, one of two South Africans on the team, scored 286 runs, including three half-centuries, leading his team to the semi-finals.

His compatriot Lungi Ngidi is also included, having taken 12 wickets at an average of 15.58. He achieved four wickets against Canada, three against Afghanistan and West Indies, and maintained an economical performance against India, conceding only 15 runs in four overs.

England’s Will Jacks earned a spot in the middle order due to his remarkable all-round contributions as England reached the semi-finals. Notably, Jacks played a crucial role with an unbeaten 32 off 18 balls and a bowling figure of 2 for 23 against New Zealand, earning him one of four Player of the Match awards. He is accompanied by teammate Adil Rashid, who took 13 wickets at an average of 14.15.

Jason Holder from the West Indies secured his place on the team with impressive contributions both with bat and ball. He took three wickets against Scotland and four against Nepal, coupled with a notable batting performance during the Super Eights.

Completing the team is Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani, who played a vital role in the group stage, capturing four wickets for 17 runs in a match against Australia and finishing the group stage with a total of nine wickets.

Shadley van Schalkwyk is named the team’s 12th player, having taken 13 wickets for the USA, with an average of 6.84 and an economy rate of 6.80.
