Dubai, Dec 5 (NationPress) Indian cricketer Shafali Verma, who delivered an exceptional performance in the Women’s World Cup Final, has received a nomination for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for November after leading her team to their first championship.

Alongside Shafali, two other competitors from the recently held inaugural ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy are Esha Oza from UAE and Thailand's Thipatcha Putthawong.

Initially a last-minute addition to the Indian squad, Shafali excelled in the final, emerging as the top scorer in India's historic victory. During her single ODI appearance in November, she scored an impressive 87 runs from 78 balls, achieving a strike rate of 111.53 and setting a strong foundation at the top of the order.

Her contributions with the ball were also significant, as she took two critical wickets of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp, conceding just 36 runs in her seven overs, effectively dismantling crucial partnerships at pivotal moments. Her all-around excellence during the finals highlighted her capabilities under pressure.

Thai spinner Thipatcha had a remarkable month, clinching the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy and sharing the title of leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 15 dismissals. Her outstanding performance included taking four key wickets against Scotland at an economy rate of 4.25 in the tournament final.

UAE all-rounder Esha demonstrated her match-winning skills during the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy. Over seven T20I matches this month, she accumulated 187 runs at a strike rate of 137.50, skillfully balancing the roles of anchor and aggressor.

Additionally, she made a substantial impact with the ball, securing seven wickets at an average of 18.14, underscoring her all-round capabilities.

Her most notable performance occurred in UAE’s last match against Namibia, where she scored an unbeaten 68 runs and took two wickets, aiding her team to a 28-run victory.
