New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presentation of the Bhagavad Gita to Russian President Vladimir Putin, CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah remarked that the PM intends to transform the nation into a Hindu nation. He believes it is essential to highlight what he perceives to be the basis of Hindutva.
In a conversation with IANS, Hannan Mollah stated, “Anyone possessing something will offer it. If you have tea, you will serve tea; if you have coffee, you will offer coffee. He possesses the Gita, so he will present the Gita. His goal is to create a Hindu nation, necessitating the demonstration of what underpins Hindutva.”
Mollah further elaborated, “The Hindutva of PM Modi differs from the Gita’s interpretation. The teachings of the Gita do not endorse conflict, whereas PM Modi’s understanding is rooted in communalism. Nevertheless, something must be offered to a guest, hence he has provided the Gita.”
On Thursday, PM Modi gifted President Putin a Russian translation of the Bhagavad Gita, declaring the scripture a source of global inspiration.
On his X account, the Prime Minister shared a photo depicting him presenting the Russian edition of the Gita to President Putin, who arrived the previous evening.
“I presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Putin. The teachings of the Gita inspire millions around the globe,” PM Modi remarked.
Prime Minister Modi praised India-Russia relations, emphasizing that the friendship between both nations has remained steadfast amidst global challenges over the past 80 years.
During a joint press conference with the Russian President after their discussions at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Friday, PM Modi noted that the relationship between the two countries has endured, expressing gratitude to Putin for his friendship and unwavering dedication to India, while acknowledging the efforts made by Russian leadership to strengthen bilateral ties.
“Today marks my pleasure in welcoming President Putin to the 23rd India-Russia Summit. His visit comes at a moment when our bilateral relations are reaching several historic milestones. 25 years ago, President Putin established the groundwork for our strategic partnership. 15 years ago, in 2010, our alliance was designated as a Special Privileged Strategic Partnership. For over two and a half decades, he (President Putin) has nurtured this relationship with his leadership and vision.
“His (President Putin) leadership, in all circumstances, has elevated our ties to new heights. I express my heartfelt gratitude to President Putin, my friend, for this profound friendship and unwavering commitment to India. The world has witnessed numerous ups and downs over the last eight decades. Humanity has faced many challenges and crises, yet amid all this, the India-Russia friendship has remained a guiding star. This relationship, built on mutual respect and deep trust, has consistently endured,” he added.
