Are the remarks by the INDIA Bloc about Bhagavad Gita gifting to Putin baseless?

Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Minister Jaiveer Singh criticized the INDIA Bloc on Saturday for comments made by a Congress leader regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's gift of the Bhagavad Gita to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"These Congress leaders and members of the INDIA Bloc continue to make baseless and nonsensical statements," Singh expressed to IANS.
Previously, Congress leader Hussain Dalwai remarked that religious texts should not be politicized.
"If that is the intention, then the Quran, the Bible, and the Guru Granth Sahib should also have been presented," Dalwai stated on Friday.
Sharply criticizing the Congress leader's comments, Jaiveer Singh claimed that the INDIA Bloc has lost the faith of the entire nation.
"At times, they refer to Lord Ram as imaginary, at other times they attack Sanatan culture, and they frequently make absurd remarks. These are the reasons why the citizens of this country have distanced themselves from them and ousted them from power," Singh declared.
BJP MLA Saroj Padhi also condemned Dalwai, asserting that India is fundamentally 'Hindustan.'
"Why does he object to presenting the Gita in Russian to President Putin? Do Muslims have the authority to question what the Prime Minister gifts and to whom?" Padhi questioned.
On Friday, Dalwai expressed to IANS his confusion regarding the rationale behind gifting the Bhagavad Gita to the Russian President.
"Along with the Gita, PM Modi could have also presented the Mahabharata. PM Modi should heed the lessons of the Mahabharata and understand the consequences of fighting with one's own kin," remarked the Congress leader.
In contrast, BJD MP Sasmit Patra took a more moderate approach, suggesting that such matters should not be overly politicized.
"President Putin is a measured and seasoned global leader. I am confident he appreciated whatever was presented by India, and we should interpret this solely as a gesture of goodwill," he stated.
Congress leader Ajay Rai also refrained from criticism, noting that the party welcomes and honors all visiting delegations to India.
Congress MP Tanuj Punia added that the choice of whether the Prime Minister gifts the Bhagavad Gita or any other book to President Vladimir Putin is entirely his.
