Patna, Oct 29 (NationPress) Following a pointed criticism by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday, Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh retaliated, accusing Gandhi of disrespecting Sanatan Dharma and the beliefs of Hindus.
“Rahul Gandhi is confused about his identity—whether he is a Parsi, a Christian, or a Hindu. Dancing seems to be a tradition in his family. His remarks on Chhath and the Prime Minister are a direct affront to Sanatan Dharma and Hindus. The people of Bihar will respond appropriately,” Giriraj Singh stated.
Singh further cautioned that any efforts to ridicule religious sentiments would provoke significant public backlash.
“We will not stand for the mockery of Chhath and Sanatan Dharma. The populace will retaliate tenfold for any insults,” he declared.
Earlier, during a joint rally with Grand Alliance CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav, LoP Rahul Gandhi remarked, “Right now, Modi is only interested in votes. If you challenge him to dance on stage, he’ll comply just to win the votes of the people of Bihar.”
LoP Rahul Gandhi also accused the Prime Minister of staging drama around Chhath Puja, a significant festival for the people of Bihar.
“While people bathed in the contaminated Yamuna, Narendra Modi enjoyed a swim in a luxury pool. His connection to Chhath or Bihar is tenuous at best; he’s solely focused on votes,” he asserted.
LoP Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the BJP and Nitish Kumar-led administration had deceived the impoverished and marginalized communities of Bihar.
“The double-engine government in Bihar must be dismantled. They have plotted to swindle the poor, farmers, and backward classes,” he remarked.
The rally in Muzaffarpur attracted a large turnout of supporters from Congress and RJD as LoP Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav intensified their collaborative campaign against the NDA ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
