Miami, March 28 (NationPress) The world-ranked No. 2, Jannik Sinner, has made a remarkable advance to the finals of the Miami Open, part of the esteemed ATP Masters 1000 series, after another impressive win against Alexander Zverev. This victory marks a significant step in his quest for a second consecutive title on the tour.

Having recently secured his first title at Indian Wells, Sinner is now poised for another triumph, having defeated Zverev with a score of 6-3, 7-6(4) on Friday night. This win also means that Sinner has achieved a remarkable streak of 32 consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events.

In the upcoming final on Sunday, the talented Italian will face Czech player Jiri Lehecka, who earned his spot in the final after defeating Arthur Fils with a decisive score of 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.

All eyes were on Sinner during the Miami Open semifinals, especially following the early exit of World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner aims to capitalize on this opportunity to seize the Miami Open title and narrow the gap in the rankings.

During the match, Sinner showcased his resilience, overcoming a break point in the third game of the first set. He quickly shifted into a higher gear, seizing on a temporary drop in Zverev's first-serve success to secure the break with a powerful forehand winner, taking a 3-1 lead.

In the second set, Zverev increased his intensity and held strong at crucial moments, especially when he saved two break points at 4-4, 15/40. Nevertheless, Sinner maintained his composure, held serve consistently, and pushed the set into a tie-break. There, he gained momentum with a 5/4 lead after Zverev mishit an overhead, ultimately tilting the match in Sinner's favor.

Heading into Sunday's final, Sinner boasts a 3-0 record against Lehecka, having triumphed over him in straight sets during their last meeting at Roland Garros last year. Given that he is not defending any ATP ranking points this year, Sinner has the chance to close the gap to World No. 1 Alcaraz by 1,540 points with a win.
