However, despite his commendable performance, the reigning champions, Dempo Goa Challengers, fell short, losing to Dabang Delhi TTC with a score of 6-9.
The match kicked off with a rematch of last season's final, as the 19-year-old Izaac Quek put Dabang Delhi ahead by defeating Tiago Apolonia 3-0 in a generational showdown between the league's youngest and oldest international players.
Diya Chitale fought valiantly against Singapore's Zeng Jian, but was unable to avoid a straight-game defeat, leveling the tie at 3-3.
