Harare, Oct 29 (NationPress) Afghanistan's head coach Jonathan Trott has announced that any previous misunderstandings with the Afghanistan Cricket Board have been amicably resolved, leading to a stronger relationship between the two parties.

Trott had earlier expressed concern over the ACB's communication issues, noting that he had not been involved in squad selections and had not engaged with the top management or the chief selector.

Following a productive conversation with the ACB and other stakeholders, Trott stated, "We all came together to find common ground and move forward. I believe we've sorted out any miscommunication, and our collaboration is now effective. We're focused on building a robust team for the upcoming matches and the T20I World Cup in the subcontinent."

He emphasized the importance of such discussions for improving communication on both sides and expressed optimism about the future. "The communication over the last few days has been excellent, and I look forward to the upcoming months," he remarked.

Trott's primary focus is on the upcoming T20 World Cup, aiming for better performances after a challenging Asia Cup. The 2026 World Cup will take place in India and Sri Lanka, featuring 20 teams, with Afghanistan qualifying directly due to their previous top-seven finish.

"We've had some valuable discussions recently. I've signed on through the end of the 2026 World Cup, and I'm excited about what's ahead. Although we were disappointed with our Asia Cup performance, the team is training hard and ready to bounce back," Trott added.

Afghanistan, fresh off a one-off Test defeat against Zimbabwe, is gearing up for a three-match T20I series starting Wednesday at the Harare Sports Club, with subsequent matches scheduled for October 31 and November 3.
