Vadodara, Jan 5 (NationPress) Aadya Baheti and Rajdeep Biswas achieved remarkable victories to secure the titles of U-11 girls' singles and U-11 boys' singles champions, respectively, during the WTT Youth Contender 2026, organized by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex in Vadodara on Monday.
In the final match for the U-11 girls' singles, Aadya triumphed over Sakshya Santosh with scores of 15-13, 11-8, and 12-10, while Biswas outperformed Sharvil Karambelkar with scores of 11-8, 11-6, 11-13, and 11-4, securing his title in the boys' singles final.
The second edition of the WTT Youth Contender, hosted by the Table Tennis Association of Baroda and facilitated by UTT, includes a competitive lineup of 226 players across age categories ranging from U-11 to U-19.
In the U-15 boys' event, Vivaan Dave overcame Rishaan Chattopadhyay with scores of 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, and 11-3 to reach the quarterfinals. He will now compete against Rudra Jena, who triumphed over U-13 boys' singles champion Dev Pranav Bhatt with scores of 11-4, 11-8, and 11-5.
Top seed in the U-15 girls' singles, Ankolika Chakraborty, second seed Naisha Rewaskar, and rising star Tanishka Kalbhairav also secured their places in the last eight with decisive victories over their opponents.
