Vadodara, Jan 5 (NationPress) Aadya Baheti and Rajdeep Biswas achieved remarkable victories to secure the titles of U-11 girls' singles and U-11 boys' singles champions, respectively, during the WTT Youth Contender 2026, organized by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex in Vadodara on Monday.

In the final match for the U-11 girls' singles, Aadya triumphed over Sakshya Santosh with scores of 15-13, 11-8, and 12-10, while Biswas outperformed Sharvil Karambelkar with scores of 11-8, 11-6, 11-13, and 11-4, securing his title in the boys' singles final.

The second edition of the WTT Youth Contender, hosted by the Table Tennis Association of Baroda and facilitated by UTT, includes a competitive lineup of 226 players across age categories ranging from U-11 to U-19.

In the U-15 boys' event, Vivaan Dave overcame Rishaan Chattopadhyay with scores of 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, and 11-3 to reach the quarterfinals. He will now compete against Rudra Jena, who triumphed over U-13 boys' singles champion Dev Pranav Bhatt with scores of 11-4, 11-8, and 11-5.

Top seed in the U-15 girls' singles, Ankolika Chakraborty, second seed Naisha Rewaskar, and rising star Tanishka Kalbhairav also secured their places in the last eight with decisive victories over their opponents.

The leading seeds in both U-19 girls' and boys' singles advanced to the quarterfinals effortlessly.

Previously, on Sunday, defending champion Syndrela Das, top seed Divyanshi Bhowmick, and Miku Matsushima of Japan initiated their U-19 girls' singles campaigns with impressive wins in their respective groups during the WTT Youth Contender 2026.

Syndrela, who captured the U-17 title on Saturday, defeated Archismita Mahato with scores of 11-7, 11-7, and 11-8 in Group 3. Meanwhile, Divyanshi secured a victory against Shrestha Kontham with scores of 11-4, 11-3, and 11-7 in Group 1.

In Group 2, Miku commenced her journey with a convincing win over Gunjan Kumar, finishing with scores of 11-3, 11-6, and 11-4. The top seeds in the boys' U-19 category also confirmed their advancement to the knockout stage, having achieved two wins each in their groups.

The top seeds in the U-15 category similarly moved forward to the knockout stage with ease.

Last week, Syndrela Das and Rupam Sardar claimed decisive victories to secure the U-17 girls' and boys' singles titles at the WTT Youth Contender 2026 held at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex, while Divija Paul and Dev Pranav Bhat were recognized as champions in the U-13 girls' and boys' categories, respectively.
