This announcement was made on Monday by senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Vishwas Sarang.
Minister Sarang stated, “The Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had assured that Kranti Gaud's father would be reinstated following his dismissal. Today, that promise has been honored. This action reflects the BJP government's dedication to supporting athletes who bring prestige to Madhya Pradesh,” as reported to IANS.
Earlier in November, Kranti Gaud (22), a member of the Women’s Cricket World Cup winning squad, was welcomed by Chief Minister Yadav in Bhopal. During their meeting, she shared her family's financial struggles and appealed for her father's reinstatement.
Since her father's suspension, the family has encountered significant challenges, prompting Kranti’s elder brothers to take on jobs as laborers and bus conductors to support their six siblings.
Hailing from Ghuwara village in Chhatarpur district, located in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh, Kranti has been a pivotal player in the Indian women's cricket team, particularly excelling during the recent tour of England.
Chief Minister Yadav had committed to fulfilling Kranti's request for her father's reinstatement as swiftly as possible. Additionally, she was awarded Rs 1 crore during a ceremony on Tribal Pride Day in Jabalpur on November 15.
As a right-arm fast bowler, Kranti Gaud was instrumental in the Women’s World Cup, taking a total of 9 wickets across 8 matches. Her standout performance came against Pakistan, where she achieved impressive figures of 3 wickets for 20 runs.
She also secured 2 wickets in a crucial match against New Zealand, but perhaps her most memorable wicket was in the semifinal.
