New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) The UP Yoddhas achieved a narrow victory of 35-32 against U Mumba at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Thursday. Although this win fell short of securing a top eight spot for the Yoddhas, it denied U Mumba the chance to finish in the top four.

In a match dominated by defensive efforts, Sumit Sangwan stood out for the Yoddhas with a remarkable High Five. Hitesh added four tackle points, while Surender Gill proved effective on both sides of the mat. For U Mumba, Ajit Chouhan achieved a Super 10, and Rinku also secured a High Five, but it wasn’t enough to clinch victory.

The contest began cautiously as both teams tried to establish their strategies. U Mumba struck first, gaining an early lead with a tackle from Vijay Kumar, followed by a couple of raid points from Ajit. Sunil Kumar made his impact felt early on, giving U Mumba a four-point lead, although Guman Singh managed to score for the UP Yoddhas.

The Yoddhas quickly equalized thanks to Surender Gill’s impressive Super Raid to tie the score at 5-5. They momentarily took the lead with Ashu Singh's first tackle, but U Mumba responded with Rinku's Super Tackles, regaining a four-point advantage with a score of 11-7 after ten minutes.

As the match continued, both teams employed a Do-Or-Die Raid strategy. Shivam Chaudhary succeeded in his raid, while Hitesh prevented Ajit from scoring. With Shivam scoring his first points, the gap closed to two.

The intensity increased as Hitesh and Sunil Kumar traded tackles. Sumit Sangwan leveled the game, and Guman Singh and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh kept the score tied at 17-17 at halftime.

The second half saw a slow start, as both teams opted for a measured approach. Zafardanesh and Hitesh contributed tackles to maintain the balance before Surender Gill secured a successful Do-Or-Die Raid, giving the Yoddhas a two-point lead. Shivam added to the tally with his raid, and a critical tackle from Sumit led to an all-out.

The Yoddhas enjoyed a seven-point lead with a score of 27-20. With ten minutes remaining, U Mumba closed the gap to four points, thanks to a tackle from Parvesh Bhainswal and a two-point raid by Ajit Chouhan. Sumit helped maintain a six-point lead with crucial tackles, pushing the score to 31-25 with just five minutes left.

As the captain of UP Yoddhas, Sumit Sangwan completed his High Five, extending the lead to seven points. U Mumba fought back with Ajit Chouhan's Super 10 and Rinku's High Five. With just a minute remaining, the game was a three-point affair, but the Yoddhas held on, with Bhavani Rajput contributing a vital point to finalize the score at 35-32.
