New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) The upcoming generation of shooting stars is set to compete across 15 Olympic and 2 non-Olympic events at the ISSF Junior World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun taking place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range from September 24 to October 2.

The excitement is palpable as 208 young shooters from 18 nations prepare to showcase their skills, with a total of 51 medals up for grabs.

The host country, India, boasts a formidable team of 69 participants, with other nations represented including the United States (20), Italy (10), Czechia (9), Iran (8), Croatia (7), Great Britain (6), United Arab Emirates (5), Slovakia (5), Qatar (4), Oman (4), Spain (8), Finland (3), Netherlands (3), Cyprus (3), New Zealand (2), Saudi Arabia (2), along with 40 Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN).

A few athletes from the United States, Great Britain, Italy, and Cyprus have arrived early for an unofficial training session on Tuesday.

This marks the second and final Junior World Cup of the year, following the first event earlier this May in Suhl, Germany, where India topped the medal tally with 11 medals, including 3 golds, 4 silvers, and 4 bronzes.

Key participants to watch include Olympia and Suhl silver medallist Raiza Dhillon, former world champion Abhinav Shaw, and Suhl gold medallists Shambhavi Kshirsagar and Tejaswani, along with bronze winners Naraen Pranav and Adriyan Karmakar.

Arianna Nimber, a World Championship medallist from Italy, will compete alongside her compatriots Marco Coco, Matteo Bragalli, and Luca Gerri at the shotgun range, along with Toni Gudelj from Croatia, who earned a bronze medal at the Suhl Junior World Cup.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at 5 PM at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, with competitions commencing on the same day featuring the 50m Rifle Prone events for both men and women, which will determine the first medalists of the World Cup.
