Amman, April 27 (NationPress) In an impressive display of talent, nine out of twelve Women’s U-15 boxers from India advanced to the finals by winning their respective semifinal bouts, ensuring that 14 Indian athletes secured a place in the finals of the Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships on the eighth day of competition.
Before the day’s matches began, India was already assured of 43 medals, but those bronzes quickly transformed into silver and gold as Indian pugilists claimed their spots in the finals.
In the Women’s U-15 semifinals, Komal (30-33 kg), Navya (58 kg), and Sunaina (61 kg) achieved remarkable RSC (Referee Stopped Contest) victories. Khushi Ahlawat (35 kg), Tamanna (37 kg), Princi (52 kg), and Trushana Mohite (67 kg) delivered strong performances, winning by significant point margins.
Milky Meinam (43 kg) fought valiantly to secure a narrow 3-2 victory, wrapping up a highly successful day for India’s young female boxers. Svi (40 kg) and Vanshika (70+ kg) advanced to the finals with byes.
