On January 6 of this year, these Maoists attempted to target a police patrol by laying an IED on the Usoor-Nadpalli route, which was effectively neutralized by the CRPF’s Bomb Disposal (BD) team.

After being detained at the Usur Police Station, the Maoists were brought before the Chief Court in Bijapur. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mayank Gurjar verified that all suspects have been placed into judicial custody.

Just three days prior, 16 Maoists lost their lives in a confrontation with security forces during a joint operation conducted by Odisha and Chhattisgarh police.

This event followed a day after two female Naxalities were killed by security forces in Chhattisgarh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has consistently stated that the government aims to eradicate Maoism from the country by March 31, 2026.
