Hyderabad, Nov 17 (NationPress) A tragic incident has resulted in the loss of 18 family members from a Hyderabad household due to a devastating bus accident near Medina, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the deaths of 45 Umra pilgrims from this region.
The family of Shaikh Naseeruddin, a retired railway employee, suffered a profound loss as three generations perished in this calamity, which unfolded as the group was traveling to Medina after completing their Umra pilgrimage in Mecca on a Sunday night.
The bus they were aboard collided with a diesel tanker approximately 25 kilometers from Medina.
Heartbreaking scenes unfolded at Naseeruddin's residence in Vidyanagar as relatives arrived in droves to extend their condolences upon hearing the shocking news.
Among the 18 family members lost were nine children, all of whom had embarked on their journey to Saudi Arabia on November 9, with plans to return by the weekend.
A group photograph taken before their departure from Hyderabad Airport showcased the happiness of Naseeruddin, his wife, a son, two daughters-in-law, three daughters, and grandchildren.
Naseeruddin (70) and his wife Akhter Begum (62), along with their son Salahuddin Shaikh (42), daughters-in-law Farana Sultana (37) and Sana Sultana (35), three daughters Ameena Begum (44), Rizwana Begum (38), and Shabana Begum (40) all lost their lives in this tragedy, along with the children accompanying them.
The youngest of their grandchildren was merely two years old. The deceased children included Shaik Zainuddin (12), Rida Tazeen (9), Tasmia Tahreen (3), Mohammed Shazian Ahmed (2), Shaik Uzairuddin (3), Umaiza Fatima (5), Mariyam Fatima (6), Mehrish Fatima (10), and Huzaifa Jaffar Syed (3).
Survivor Sirajuddin Shaikh, who is reportedly in the United States, is the only surviving member of the family; however, his wife and children were tragically among those who perished.
Political leaders from various parties visited Naseeruddin’s home to express their condolences.
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud were among those who visited Naseeruddin’s family, with Kishan Reddy assuring them of all possible assistance from the Central government, while the TPCC president promised support from the state government.
Another family also suffered a loss, with five members dying in the bus mishap. A somber atmosphere enveloped the home of Irfan Ahmed in Langar House.
The victims included Irfan Ahmed (38), his mother Sabiha Begum (57), his wife Humera Nazneen (31), and their children Hamdan Ahmed (6) and Izaan Ahmed (7).
