28,000 Portable Toilets to Ensure Cleanliness Around Mahakumbh and the Ganga

New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) In alignment with the National Clean Ganga Mission, substantial cleanliness management strategies have been deployed, featuring 28,000 toilets at an investment of Rs 152.37 crore for Mahakumbh 2025.
These measures integrate modern technology with traditional methods to guarantee a clean and sustainable environment for the event, as stated by the Jal Shakti Ministry on Friday.
Preserving the purity of the Ganga, implementing effective waste management, and establishing plastic-free zones are the primary focuses for the organization of Mahakumbh 2025.
This event is being showcased as a standard for environmental responsibility, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness throughout the fairgrounds.
More than 28,000 toilets have been set up, including 12,000 Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) toilets with septic tanks and 16,100 prefabricated steel toilets featuring soak pits.
These installations aim to foster an eco-friendly approach while maintaining cleanliness. Moreover, 20,000 community urinals have been created to guarantee a comfortable and hygienic experience for devotees while promoting green practices.
To facilitate effective waste management in the event area, 20,000 trash bins have been installed to assist in source segregation, alongside encouraging reuse and recycling.
In addition, 37.75 lakh liner bags have been distributed to streamline waste collection and disposal.
This organized waste management system will ensure that the event area remains clean and environmentally friendly.
The strategies implemented for Mahakumbh 2025 will not only establish elevated standards for cleanliness but also illustrate the country's dedication to environmental sustainability, according to the Ministry's statement.
