New Delhi, Sep 20 (NationPress) Almost 5,000 young individuals are set to participate in the Namo Youth Run, organized by the Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha this Sunday at the Delhi University Sports complex. This initiative is part of the Drug-Free India Campaign, aimed at raising awareness about drug abuse, stated BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj.
Providing insights into the event, the BJP MP from New Delhi emphasized that addiction is a destructive force that adversaries exploit to weaken the fabric of our nation.
"Around 5,000 youths from Delhi will join the run on Sunday morning, guided by brand ambassador Padmashri Sudha Singh. We urge all youth to advocate for a drug-free India," she remarked.
She noted that this run is part of the 'Seva Pakhwara', a celebration by the BJP from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 through to Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2.
The Namo Yuva Run aims to raise awareness among the youth regarding drug addiction across the nation, she explained.
Swaraj mentioned that PM Modi serves as an inspiration for 1.4 billion Indians, recognizing that the youth represent the future of the country.
She added that the PM is laying a solid foundation for a developed India, shifting the narrative from mere youth empowerment to strengthening the nation under youth leadership.
Padmashri Gold Medallist athlete Sudha Singh remarked that the marathon is a significant campaign to liberate youth from drug addiction.
"We urge everyone to talk to any child or youth in your home struggling with addiction, as the presence of an addict in a family can weaken the entire household," Singh advised.
Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha President Sagar Tyagi announced that the run will commence at 6:30 a.m., featuring announcements from BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda and BJP Yuva Morcha President Tejasvi Surya.
