Additionally, Indian citizens in Iran are being assisted in returning home via Armenia and Azerbaijan, with a total of 1,031 Indians, comprising 707 students and 324 other Indian nationals, successfully crossing over thus far.
Indian students located in Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz have been relocated to safer areas within Iran. Meanwhile, Indian nationals in Israel are being assisted in traveling to India through Jordan, as per the statement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in discussions with global leaders regarding the ongoing turmoil in the West Asia region. On Saturday, he communicated with Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, extending Eid and Nowruz greetings. He expressed hope that this festive season would usher in peace, stability, and prosperity for West Asia.
The Prime Minister condemned the attacks on vital infrastructure in the area, which pose a threat to regional stability and disrupt global supply chains. He emphasized the necessity of safeguarding navigation freedoms and ensuring that shipping routes remain open and secure.
He acknowledged Iran’s ongoing support for the safety and welfare of Indian nationals in the country.

Since February 28, approximately 375,000 passengers have returned from the region to India, with flight operations gradually improving, as noted in the statement.
